Match Report

Westside are knocked out in the 1st round of one of the cups they won last season.  The wind affected the game greatly it got stronger and colder as the match went on but Lochs were the better team on the night. Both teams were missing key players for this season opener.

Westside looked to play a 4-5-1 formation with new signing Mo Khalil up front on his own, Lochs went ahead through a goal from David Macmillan after about 35 minutes, Lochs went into half time 1-0 up. Don Lava made it 2-0 after about 55 minutes. Westside were looking out of the tie until Colin George scored straight afterwards on 56 minuted. Then Innes Ian score an equalizer in 73 minutes to make it 2-2. Game on!

The game looked like it was going to go into extra time until David Macmillan popped up again after about 85 minutes with a cracking strike judging the wind well to curl the ball past Iain Gillies into the top corner to make it 3-2, the game got a bit heated not long after that with an off the ball incident with Innes Ian on the deck then whatever happened the Lochs goalie running out of his box to have a run in with Ali Williamson, the ref defused the situation & game played on. Rob Jones killed the game for westside in the final minutes of the match when he found himself with plenty space to take a shot and make it 4-2.

Final Score Lochs 4 – 2 Westside, Lochs progress to the semi final against the winners of the prosponed game between United & Back.
